Narrative Poem #1
Cosmesis (Overture)
The universe is a fractalfractalfractal [[hyper-narrative]] [which is to say it is an infinitely self-similar∞ story object] a fantasy written in matter and motion and T1/\/\3 and s p a c e All things exist as both phenomena within the story and iterations of the story, recursivelyrecursively symbolizing itself on every level. This is why we ought not despair at our smallness for we as humans contain the universe, both as map and as territory. To understand the universe to solve the mystery at the end of the book, we need only understand ourselves. But this is impossible, like looking at the back of one’s head in the mirror. This is why we should despair. Not for our smallness, but for our grotesque immensity and the invisible multitudes within us. There can be no escape, for all acts of rebellion are absorbed into the narrative for the narrative is hungry and all-consuming. What can we do then? How can we live? Simple. 1. Mineral oil. 2.
